A Brief Introduction To Bakhtiar Rugs (Part 2)

Also named after a region in Iran near Isfahan called Bakhtiari, the designs origins are with a mixed group of nomads and villagers of Luri, Kurdish, Armenian, Turkoman, and other ethnic origins, now settled in South and Central Persia.
As with most hand knotted rugs, the attributes of Bakhtiars vary greatly from carpet to carpet. There are variations in the patterns, quality of the wool, and fineness of knotting.
